Phew! Well, we are open again after a very quick four day trip to the (mother and) fatherland, which in our case is the Great State of New Jersey and the home of the 15th-ranked Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The trip was a joy, and the weather was something out of the first half of a Peter Weir film. While my bi-annual trips to the Garden State are always a day too short and leave me wishing I spent more time there, they serve as a constant reminder of why it is that I make my home and my career in San Francisco. As I like to say, “New Jersey is a great place to be from.”
In spite of the “Closed Until 10/18” sign that most recently hung on our storefront, there’s been a steady stream of job requests trickling over the threshold since before I left town to watch the Scarlet demolish the Orange. Given the demands of the still-pending work that remained prior to my departure and the list of new work that’s awaiting placement on our calendar, I’d like to preempt any New Customer Requests for work that needs to be scheduled prior to the week of November 19th. Unfortunately, absent some additions to our staff, all of our tradesmen are already looking at full calendars through the 2nd full week of the next month.
Once again, we can not accept any new work requests until after the 18th of November. If this changes, and if we complete our existing backlog of work prior to that date, we will immediately update our website with new information.

With the Blues in town this weekend, Hardly Strictly happening in the park, Syracuse’s last visit to Piscataway the following weekend, and a use-it-or-lose it ticket to New York on United burning a hole in my pocket, I’m closing up shop for a week in October and getting some much needed rest. The only reason I mention it here is to let you know that we won’t be responding to any new customer inquiries until after we reopen on Thursday, October 18th. Our Contact Us page remains active, however new customer inquiries during our absence will go without replies or response; if you want to get a hold of us, we ask that you contact us after our return. I sincerely apologize for the not being able to provide service or referrals for the next two weeks, but hope that your work can await our return closer to the end of the month.
A few appointments dropped this morning, pulling Thursday and Friday afternoon off of the calendar, and likely Wednesday morning, but that’s still unconfirmed – so we’ve still got Wednesday mid-day/afternoon available, Friday morning, and Tuesday (tomorrow) available for immediate service. (Gosh, when’s the last time we had a next-day appointment available? I guess that’s what happens when the original site says we’re not taking new customers over a period of more than three weeks.)
